Question: I have developed a raspy voice and it feels like I need a clear my throat but I can't .

Hi,thank you for posting your query on health care magic.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

Looking at your symptoms, you might probably be suffering from Laryngitis (Inflammation in the Larynx-voice box).

You might get relief by taking the following medication:
Analgesic with Antiinflammatory like Ibuprofen,
Antacid like Rantac,
Antihistaminic like Cetrizine,
Mucolytic like Ambroxol in case of cough,
Antibiotic like Augmentin (only in case of symptoms like severe throat pain,fever, difficulty in swallowing,etc).

Also do steam inhalation.Avoid cold,spicy and oily food.Take voice rest for a few days.Speak only if necessary.Dont shout or whisper.Speak after taking deep breath in a soft voice.Drink lots of warm fluids.Avoid dust.
