Brief Answer:
need more information to treat

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Please answer few questions for clariifcation-

1. Can you or anybody else seen those parasites?
2. How can you say they have a base there?
3. Have you visited any skin speacilist for the same and sought treatment apart from that mentioned in query?
4. Do you feel the rash behind knee related to the anal area parasites?

P.S. bed bugs mostly attack back and lateral areas of body as we lie down like that in bed.

Good luck

1. yes, family doctor noticed pinworms at a visit in Oct when went in for rash by anus.
Did not work with 1st treatment so given another dose. Vollowed with colonoscopy. None were found and colonoscopy report was good.
However, still feel the same feeling at night as if the pinworms are active.
2. No visit to skin specialist. This has been going on way too long and has affexted my sleep dramatically!
3. Feel they have a base there because this will not go away. Feel am doing everything right with washing clothes, bedding separate in hot and bleach, etc...
4. Not sure if small rash between the knee and sore shoulder (2 small red dots that feel like bites are related? Noticed about the same time.

This has done on far too long with no answers and I need advice on next steps!

Brief Answer:
need to see bed bugs to diagnose

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

For the diagnosis of bed bugs we need two things together-
We should be able to see the bugs and also have clinical symptoms.

Now here we have your symptoms of rash but nothing else...moreover, the parts of body which are affected are also not commonly seen in cases of bed bugs (in that case- back, arms, legs are more commonly involved).

You have tried many things like washing, using bleach etc..you can try steaming and can call pesticide group for spraying it.. it is quite effective measure (but many bed bugs have become pesticide resistant now a days).

Also, even in case of pin worm infestation, you should be cleared of it after proper anti helminthic drugs. May be you can repeat the course...but colonoscopy is not needed.

For SOS basis you may take anti histaminic like- levo cetrizine to help rash and itching.
For sleep- zolpidem will be of great help.

So,the crux is that to be sure of bed bugs behind all these symptoms- you need to see them!

I dont think that there is a home base coz the bed bugs return to their original extra human base after deeding on blood...like beds , other furnitures or floorings etc.
and pin worms dont stay at one place...you can get that particular area or bump sectioned if you want to be sure...a simole insicion can clarify the doubt if there are pinworms there in that base??

Good luck.
