Brief Answer:
Information

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

I'm sorry you are having trouble. As you may know, the flu shot is to prevent influenza (flu) which is a respiratory illness (severe cold type infection with cough, body aches, and fever), not a gastrointestinal illness. Sometimes people say they have flu or stomach flu when they have a gastrointestinal infection, but this is a colloquial expression rather than a medical term and can be confusing.

It is unlikely for the flu shot to cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea. More likely to cause headache, fever and body aches. Nausea is possible too, but I would not expect abdominal pain and diarrhea.

However, how one's body reacts to things can vary and atypical reactions are always possible, although unusual.

Are the symptoms you developed Thursday starting to resolve?
