Question: Hello Doctor, our Pediatrician had earlier recommended Aptizoom syrup to enhance my 4 year old daughter's appetite. It usually worked well. Last month she got fever almost within a gap of 1 week. At that time doctor recommended Aptimust syrup for one month. Aptizoom is ayurvedic medicine whereas Aptimust is allopathic. Now she is fine but due to summer heat her appetite has waned. So just wanted to take your guidance which medicine is better and safe (or some other better option preferably Ayurvedic). Many thanks in advance.

Brief Answer:
No need for any medicine in summer for appetite

Detailed Answer:
Hai,
Thanks for consulting us.

As post infection appetite loss will reverse back within a week usually.
In summer usually appetite will be less compared with other climatic condition.

Due to hot summer kids as well as adult does not prefer to eat as like in other climatic condition. Everyone prefer eat to mild, semi solid, liquid kind of food.

As per ayurveda external weather conditions will influence our physical and mental status. In hot weather we should avoid hot, spicy, complex fat, heavy and fried items.
Prefer to take steamed food, fruits and liquid foods are most recommended.
Dont expect your child to eat as like in winter weather. Add more watery semi solid food like butter milk mix with rice, steamed dal, nuts ,Watermelon, cucumber honey with fruits and steamed vegetables, salads mixed with peanuts. green leaf vegetables should served frequently.

Lime juice, tender cocconut ,daary products can be served.

As aptizoom is enough as its working well no need to change the medicine.

Keeping your daughter active and safe is the first recommendation.
Hydration should be kept in check to avoid urinary tract infection. 2 liters of water per day should be taken, avoid outside food.

Hope I answered your query, Kindly get back to me for any clarification.
