I can understand your concern for the scars on the face of your wife.
These scars after acne also known as "Post Acne scars" have different grades and depths and accordingly we provide the treatment to the patients. The scars are also more visible because of the pigmentation over the skin.
In general we prefer a combination treatment to take care of both pigmentation and depth of the scar. I prefer to suggest a cream containing Kojic acid and Azealic acid on one night.
On the other night I prefer to use Tretinoin 0.025% or glycolic acid under dermatological supervision.
These crams are to be applied by the guidance of a dermatologist only. A very thin amount is sufficient for initial few weeks. These creams are to be very gently touched and should not rubbed. You can visit a dermatologist and take further guidance.
I also suggest you to instruct your wife for sun protection. it is quite important factor for the pigmentation part of the scars.
