Suggest Treatment For Persistent Sinus Infection
Question: I have had a sinus infection/cold since Halloween. They have tried amoxicillin, ceftin, Flonase and saline spray. I can't get rid of it. I also have sarcoidosis

Hi,
I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having sinus infection.
As per your clinical details, it appears to be sub acute sinusitis (3-6 months) secondary to sarcoidosis.
Sarcoidosis is a granulomatous disease involves multiple organs in the body. Before planning treatment, I would propse biopsy, nasal endoscopy or CT scan of para nasal sinuses (polyps) to rule out sinonasal sarcoidosis. This will also help us know the extent of sinusitis and presence of polyps.
Relapses and remissions are common in tapering the steroid treatment (flixonase spray), you require life time follow up and inter disciplinary treatment with steroids, FESS surgery or other immunosuppressive drugs.
