Question: i had the flu with a bad cold and bronchial congestion, a month ago. I have since developed a serious consistent cough. there is phlegm involved and my sinuses are also runny. the cough is getting worse but I do not have a fever or feel tired and can still workout and function. my chest or bronchial area is feeling the hacking. Because there is no fever or tiredness could this be related to the winter weather and continued infection from the cold.

Brief Answer:
Yes, weather and cold may play the causes..

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I went through the list of symptoms. You most likely could be suffering from a sinus inflammation which is tricking down into the breathing pipe leading to cough. Bad winter weather is known to contribute to these symptoms. If you don't have fever, then I will recommend you try regular steam inhalation starting with atleast four times a day. If you are not allergic to nyquil, you should try it; it helps to reduce congestion and cough. Topical nasal congestants can be useful too.

If symptoms don't get better, it is advisable to visit an ENT specialist. X-ray of paranasal sinus along with chest examination will be necessary.

Hope this helped. Let me know if you need clarifications.
