Brief Answer:
Thickened mucous

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
I'm Dr. Shuba Hariprasad and will be answering your query today.

This seems due to be due to thickened mucous in the respiratory tract. Nothing to worry about.

I recommend :
-steam inhalations thrice a day.
-plenty of water, warm fluids and rest. Hydration is important as reduced water in the body can thicken secretions and delay healing.
-if you have a fever or breathing difficulty, I suggest you consult your physician to check for any lung congestion.
-a vitamin C supplement (500mg a day).
-if you have a sore throat, Gargling with dissolvable aspirin will help. Gargle and spit it out.

As mentioned above, if you have fever, breathing difficulty, severe throat pain, or see more than a few drops of bright red blood, see your doctor right away.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Regards,
Dr. Shuba Hariprasad
