Question: Hi
This is XXXXX, I am suffering from continuous burping and panic asthma attacks along with chest pain, this will worsen during nights when I was lying down for sleep, My wife tells me that after I slept and I don't have any burping this happens when I was waken, I have gone through all medical tests to avoid heart related problem 1 year back, ECG, 2D Echo, Thread Mill test and everything came clear and doctor has reffered me to Gastroentologist for GERD symptoms, when I saw gastroentologis first time they have taken the endoscopy for abdomen and it came with some minor gastritis (erosion) problem. Doctor has put me on Pentacid-L medication on empty stomach & Meva-C before meal 3 times a day. I was on this medication almost 10 months though I felt little comfortable but not major improvement, I have approached gastroentologist again, then he referred me for Endoscopy and 24 Hrs PH test. My Endoscopy report came with results severe gastritis &erosions and PH Test shows high reflux but no GERD. doctor has put me on the medicine Ganaton OD , Nexpro-40 on empty stomach and Rantac-150 in night before meal. I have been using this medicine from last 2 months but not much progress, I am having asthma attacks and able to take breath only after the burp and this episodes continuous for an hour and then goes. I also feel the symptoms like someone squeezing my heart & pinching and also chest tightness during this attack, it happens daily 5 to 6 episodes and worsens in the night. I don't know whom to approach for this as I am suffering from last 1 year and not sure if this will lead to some serious problem, I appreciate if you can advice for any medical treatment based on above symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome,
I understood your question and trying to solve it.
you are suffering from persistent severe asthma with severe form of reflux esophagitis. Reflux esophagitis leads to aggravation of condition at night specially.
I have gone through your reports.
Continue taking antacid tablets which are prescribed to you. along with that Control of asthma is also must for which you must consult physician for evaluation. steroid inhalation during acute attack of asthma will be helpful to you. Also low dose bronchodilator treatment will help you to control the severity of asthma.
Along with that , drink plenty of food orally, avoid spicy food and dont sleep immediate after taking food.
so adequate control of gastritis along with asthma will improve your quality of life.
