Suggest Treatment For Periodic Strong Smell In Urine
Question: I started noticing a periodic strong smell in my urine but now the very strong smell in prevalent each time I urinate. I saw our local doctor at the urgent care center a month to 6 weeks ago thinking I had a UTI. However, he said my urine showed very little infection. He gave me a few days antibiotics but since that time the odor has gotten stronger and is present with each urination.
I had breast cancer about a year ago and have been on the drug arimidex/astronazole and wondered is medication could be the cause of the change in my urine. I see my oncologist Dec. 18 for my 3-month followup visit. Thank you for your time.

This drug has propensity to cause urinary infection like picture because of its strong excretion into the urine.
These effects can be reversed on cessation of drug therapy.
You need not worry of this as long as your urine culture and sensitivity rules out any microorganism growth.
In case if you develop any burning micturition along with signs of fever,you need to evaluate further by renal ultrasound.
