Suggest Treatment For Partial Interstitial Tear Of Anterior Cruciate Ligament

Question: Hi,

I have been diagnosed with a partial interstitial tear of Anterior Cruciate Ligament in my left knee.
The knee has been problematic since many years, actually I have a 4mm difference between by left and right lower leg bones. Left one is 4mm longer and the same knee has been giving pain since last few years. In my childhood I had experienced a slight fall due to which there was a 15 cm long deep cut in the skin some 3-4 cms below the left knee just on the inside part of the leg. I don't know if this caused any complications with the knee. I went to the doctor only recently because the left knee was causing pain often and I felt more pressure on the let knee while walking (pressure has been there for many years due to the bone length difference i think). When I used to sit on the floor with crossed legs, the left knee caused pain. So, the doctor advised a blood test, in which Uric acid was 6.5 mg/DL (advisable range from 2.3 - 7.2 mg/DL), vitamin D was 18 (saying insufficiency, don't remember the unit of the reading), and vitamin B12 was also on the lower side 212 just under the advisable range 200 - xxxx (dont remember the upper limit). But, I was surprised that the doctor said that the Uric acid is high, and that XXXXXXX population has a statistically lower normal uric acid level than mine. (But my dad who is a HoD in BioChemistry in the Hospital said that the doctor is wrong, and advised me to go for the blood test again). I have been advised 3 weeks rest from any sports by the doctor, which is ok, and I am following it, but I do have to climb stairs sometimes which he had advised against. Can you please share your suggestions about how to treat this ACL tear effectively and also how to treat the left knee as a whole. (Report mentioned something like Grade 1 strain.... and Partial tear of ACL and some degradation of meniscus i think)
