Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Ribs And Difficulty In Breathing

default
Posted on Tue, 27 Sep 2016
Question: When I take a deep breath, it feels as if I've been swimming to long. It's uncomfortable but hard to decribe any other way. Some pain in my rib cage, but that could be muscle soreness - concerned but it's a tough weekend to see my Dr. and the walk in clinics don't accept my insurance.

Brief Answer:
Pain medications such as Tylenol and monitor only.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I have reviewed this information fully and this is not suggestive of any immediate worrisome disease condition. I will recommend pain management as this seems to be originating from the muscles/soft tissues only. I will only recommend further evaluation or consultation if this pain worsens or fails to regress significantly within 3days.

For now, 1g of tylenol every 8hours would be good and report progress to me for further review and guidance.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
