Suggest Treatment For Pain And Discomfort In The Testicle And Groin Area

default
Posted on Tue, 29 Sep 2015
Question: Hi. I am a 28 year old male who has recently experienced some discomfort in the left testicle and groin area. The groin discomfort is a mild slight pain feeling. The testicle pain can be pretty severe at times. I have recently noticed a soft tissue like mass above the testicle that is tender to touch when I experience this pain. It is not a part of the testicle itself. It seems to ease after ejaculation. I seem to notice it worse when I become aroused but do not ejaculate. Is this something to be concerned over?

Thank you!

1) This problem has recently started occurring. Within the past few weeks

2) No history of trauma to the area

3) I am not sexually active. I have a fiance but we are waiting until marriage to have sex. When we are close I do get very sexually aroused and thought maybe not releasing that could be a part of the problem

4) Not the testes itself but within the scrotum yes I do feel work like places. That is the area that is tender to touch...right about the left testicle and a very worm like mass

5) no history

6) I take pravastatin for cholesterol and a multi vitamin

Brief Answer:
Most probably varicocele

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thank you for getting back with the answers. I have gone through them. In my opinion differential would be varicocele & epididymo-orchitis. Both are inflammatory conditions that can cause similar complaints. Conditions are not serious BUT if proper treatment is not taken then that may aggravate. I would suggest you to once visit hospital & get an appointment for a "Consultant urologist". He will examine the testicular area and may order ultrasound scrotum to confirm the diagnosis. Further management of antibiotic therapy would start after confirmation of the diagnosis. A course of 7-10 days of antibiotic, analgesic & anti-inflammatory agents will completely resolve the case.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
