default
Posted on Tue, 31 Jan 2017
Question: For the past 2 weeks I experiencing discomfort in my left knee. Had no trauma to the knee; no swelling or discoloration; not tender to the touch. Area is on the inside of the left leg near the kneecap. Pain (which feels like a pinch in the troubled area) is present when walking and occurs as my left foot comes into contact with the ground and is concentrated in the knee area. There is no pain when resting or sitting or flexing the leg; the knee joint feels stable. Have no history of surgery or arthritis on either knee.

Brief Answer:
Consult an Orthopedic surgeon.

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxx,
Thanks for the query. I have read it & also your previous queries carefully & understand your concern
Though the left knee pain you can be due to inflammation of ligament / bursae on inner side of left knee. But all of your complaints in last few days, with pain in lower abdominal without any digestion problem, pain in foot & now pain in knee can be explained as a nerve pain caused by pressure/ irritation/ pinching of nerve fibers supplying left leg.
The level of nerve irritation can be at lumber spine (spondylosis), abdomen ( pressure exerted by fibrosis at hernia stitches/ by mesh inserted during surgery ) the Hip joint ( sciatic notch) .
I therefore would suggest you to consult an orthopedic surgeon who would examine you physically & advise for investigations like X ray/ MRI of spine or knee as per indication. Coming to the diagnosis - specific treatment would be given to you (NSAID pills, Vitamin D & calcium supplement,Steroids( oral/ local injection), physiotherapy or surgery )
- Till then you should take rest/ apply hot or cold packs in case of severe constant pain/ Take pain medicine like Ibuprofen 400 mg over the counter, twice a day after eating. This would help you for time being.
I hope the answer is helpful to you. You are most welcome for any follow up query.
