Question: My son fell yesterday with his arm fully extended and a friend accidently kicked his elbow while the arm was extended. He has pain right above his elbow. He cannot straighten his arm fully and wont bend it up towards his shoulder further than a 90 degree angle. with his elbow at a 90 degree angle, palm up, he can twist his hand toward his body, but he cannot turn the hand away from his body without pain. There is swelling right above his elbow on the back of his arm

I am so sorry to hear about this fall your son suffered yesterday. I have reviewed the information fully. With pain and limitation in movements and range of movements, I will suggest that we get an X-ray to evaluate the bones of this joint. We must rule to the possibility of a fracture and dislocation. If it comes down just to soft tissue injury and pain, then we can go ahead and immobilize to allow for healing.
