Posted on Tue, 27 Jun 2017
Question: Some times when I go to stand up, particularly if the chair is low, it feels like my left knee will collapse or buckle, maybe buckling to the left. It has not happened.
I got t his feeling about a year ago and was sent for X-Rays with nothing showing up.
What could it be?
I am losing weight, especially on the legs.

What is Diacerine and glucosamine ?
Not sure what other info on me you have but both shoulders are "bone of bone". I am beginning to look at replacing the right one. Is it similar to my knee???
One shoulder responded well to cortisone shots but not the right one. Knee??

Brief Answer:
Bone on bone is osteoarthritis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Diacerin and glucosamine are joint lubricant supplements. Osteoarthritis is characterized by bone on bone appearance. Cortisone shots supplements and regular physiotherapy can help the knee.
Hope my answer is helpful.

What is telling you that it is Osteoarthritis in my knee? My age? Feels strange, i.e. might buckle.
Or the fact that it is in my shoulders?

Brief Answer:
Due to age.

Detailed Answer:
Your age suggests osteoarthritis as it is due to age related degenerative changes in the weight bearing joints like knee. X-ray will help in confirmation.
Regards.
