I am DR XXXXXXX XXXXXXX and will be answering your query . I have gone through your query and being your physician I completely understand your health concerns.
For how long u are suffering from it? Any other associated problem? like diabetes or hypertension? Is it a first attack? any triggering stimulus for this headache?
As far as treatment of the migraine is concerned , it should involve BI-MODAL APPROACH.i .e acute pain relief measures and prevention of future attacks.
For acute pain relief ,It is always wise to start with simple analgesic like ibuprofen, narcotics analgesics can be used. If there is need to add another agent from the TRIPTAN family, which are generally well tolerated and with good response, one should be careful regarding the status of coronary arteries . TRIPTANS must not be used in ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE.
For prevention of future attack, pronalolol should be used ,along with avoiding the triggers.
As you have got HYPERTENSION, ifI am you attending physician i will get your ECG FIRST after then i will proceed further. I will definitely involve neurologist in managing your case.
For nausea , dimenhydrinate has got very promising results. and will be my choice for you
Meanwhile stay calm and use acetaminophen to relieve pain.
meet your physician and discuss all this.
Get well soon
Hope your query is adequately addressed if you still have any feel free to ask any time with my name being mentioned.
