Question: Hello, my father has been working a lot lately.
He feel numb on his arms and legs.
He also feel discomfort about his neck.
I think it's because of the pain in his neck that cause the numbness in his arms and legs.
Does he have degenerative spine ?
Should he take acetaminophen to reduce the pain or should he go to the doctor immediately?

Brief Answer:
Degenerative cervical spine likely/Anti-neuralgics instead of acetaminophen

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

Of course, pain in neck with numbness in arms and legs appear to be typical for a cervical spine pathology-most likely degenerative spine.

A X-Ray cervical spine or MRI cervical spine(preferably) will help in the diagnosis.
Its always better to be examined by a doctor but it does not appear to be a medical emergency.

Acetaminophen is not the drug of choice here.Rather, antineuralgic medicines like pregabalin, amitriptyline or duloxetine will be helpful.Simultaneously, methylcobalamin and calcium/vitamin D supplements will help.

Physiotherapy has a very important role too.

Hope that I have answered your query. If you have some follow-up questions,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.
