Suggest Treatment For Numbness In Foot

default
Posted on Mon, 12 Jan 2015
Question: First let me tell you I am really scared. I am 60 years old. Never been sick. Do not take any medicine. About a year ago I had some foot issues. Some numbness. My fiancé got sick a year ago and I took care of him up till he passed away in XXXXXXX 2014. I guess I ignored my problems. The numbness has come back. It really hurts. I am so afraid to go to the Drs. I don't have a family Dr. Trying to get in to see a Dr is impossible. Can you please tell me what they will do to me.

Brief Answer:
It may be peripheral neuropathy.Nerve conduction studies.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being here on Healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar, a neurologist, here to answer your query.

All I could make out from your clinical history is that you are having tingling and numbness intermittently in feet for past 1 year.

This is likely due to peripheral neuropathy.

This can be commonly due to-
1)Diabetes
2)Vitamins deficiency

Please visit a neurologist so that he may examine you well to establish your diagnosis. He will probably screen you for blood sugar, vitamin B12 levels and nerve conduction studies.

There is no need to be afraid of,absolutely.None of the investigations is going to be painful. Some medicines can treat you effectively.

Hope I have answered your queries. If you still have some follow-up queries,I shall be glad to answer, else please close the thread, rate it and write a review.
