Suggest Treatment For Migraines And OCD Symptoms

default

Question: I was diagnosed with hypothyroid 13 years ago. I have been on thyroid meds ever since. About 4 1/2 years ago I developed severe OCD and migraines and food intolerances. I narrowed the food intolerances down by writing in a food diary. I am intolerant to gluten and dairy mainly. The migraines and OCD symptoms happen only when I eat something that causes inflammation. I know this only because of very very careful monitoring on my part. I eat a pretty clean diet. Sometimes I flair up and I am not quite sure why. Every doctor I have been to wants to shove meds down my throat instead of coming up with the answer of why I am going through this. I believe it's either the meds I am on for the thyroid or the thyroid itself causing this. Can you make any recommendations. I did this yesterday and no one ever got back to me. My e-mail address is YYYY@YYYY . I would appreciate some feed back. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Thyroid

Detailed Answer:
I have reviewed your concerns.

Sorry to learn about the migraines and OCD symptoms.

The thyroid cannot be implicated in either of these as long as the dose replacement is adequate.

So if your TSH and free T4 are in the target range of normal, then it is extremely unlikely that there is any connection whatsoever between your thyroid status and the OCD/migraines.

Endocrinologists are the most qualified type of specialists to deal with the thyroid. So if you wish to see one in person to be absolutely certain of your thyroid condition being correctly managed,do not hesitate to make an appointment with the closest one in your area.
