Question: I am 75 years. I am suffering from Mineres disease (Vertigo. Tinnitus and heavy hitting sound in the left year) for the last 3 months. Due to this Hearing loss also is noticed heavily. Vertin tablets are not suitable for me.. They will increase the sound. I am now using B-stil 16 for vertigo and for hitting/beating sound Doloneuron 100 mg. My family doctor, general physician, has suggested this medicine. Still the sound not controlled. Some improvement in the Body imbalance (vertigo) Are they sufficient for my disease and shall I continue the same for some more time. Whether my disease will be cured or not.. Doctors do not say any answer to me. Whether Miniers disease is curable On account of using the medicines continuously,
2. Now I am also suffering with acidity now. Doctor has given Pentocid DSR (daily 2) and VSL-3 (daily one.) Are they sufficent for the acidity problem. Will VSL-3 will work for acidity effectively I am afraid to use VSL-3.
3. I am a diabetic for the last 25 years. Amaril 1 mg and Glycomet 500 mg I am using It is under control. Now it is fluctuating since this Miniers disease started.
4 I am mentally disturbed very much with this miniers disease.. I have no BP. For free motion night before bed I am taking Dhuphalac Lactulose 15ml. It is working well.
5. Can you tell me Sir, which doctor I can approach for Miniers disease or shall I continue the same medicines for some more time prescribed by my family dcotor. He is an MD & specialised in cardiology . . I am in XXXXXXX Can you suggest any other doctor whom I should consult for my disease if necessary. Unfortunately my followup question has not reached. I want TO tell you the background of my disease. I had the same problem during April 2008. During 2007 Sep. I had been to XXXXXXX I was there for 6 months. At that place the cold was -42C. I have taken all precautions . No problem there for m.e When I got down the flight in XXXXXXX on 1st April, at the airport itself, I started the vertigo problem.. They used Vertin 16 mg. I used for 4 months. During July 2008, the ear hitting sound started. Later I visited all imp. hospital in HYD. Appollo, Medicity, Medwin. XXXXXXX Global etc. and consulted E&T specialsts. No body could help me, but tried with medicines on me. I suffered nearly for more than 6 months. I became half on account of these medicines. Then my family doctor told me that do not use any medicines. It is internal ear problem. Subsequently several doctors confirmed that it is MINIERS DISEASE. It will not be cured but may control. slowly You have to live with the problem. During 2008 in the process I saw Dr. XXXXXXX also, but my problem not solved. Doctors told me that in the internal ear, out of 2 nurves, one nurve controlling body balancing system, some liquid is forming. the reason why I am getting this sound and body imbalance. Doctor can you suggest whether this can be cured through any Surgical procedure. If, so you can suggest where and to whom I consult.. Recently I got MRI also, there it was mentioned as under
LEFT MASTOID AIRCELLS SHOWS OPACIFICATION SUGGESTING MASTOIDITIS.
BILARERAL CP ANGLE REGIONS INTERNAL AUDUTORY CANALS COCHIEA AND SEMICIRCULAR CANALS APPEAR NORMAL
SMALL T27 flair hyperintensity in the bilateral deep white matter and centrum semiovale suggesting small vessel ischaemia.

Thanks a lot for your valuable suggestion and information. I will follow your advice to continue on medicines. It is clear for me that my problem is not totally curede but will be controlled. Hope I am correct in my view.

I am attaching latest MRI report, , recent Audiometry report and Old report confirming Miniers disease by the audiologist for your information. Please go through my MRI and other reports and advise me whom should I consult with MRI if there is any serious probelem and if you feel necessary. Now vertigo has little come down bit hitting sound in the ear is causing me a lot. Can you suggest best tablet to control the hitting sound. I will also meet Dr XXXXXXX shortly as suggedted by you and come back to you if necessary. When I came to XXXXXXX definitely I will try to meet you Sir.B -Stil 16 is working for me for vertigo. Shall I continue instead of going for new medicine. Please advise me what should I do now and to whome I should consult. Sorry I troubled you a lot with my health problem
