Brief Answer:
Possibility of bronchitis is more.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) tells about lung functions, obstructive and restrictive lung disease.
PFT will not tell anything about oxygen.
Your symptoms (shortness of breath) are more suggestive of bronchitis. And for bronchitis, PFT is must.
So your PFT might show obstructive Airway defect (bronchitis). And bronchitis can cause low oxygen level.
So better to send me picture of PFT report so that I can guide you better.
Also tell me if you are smoker or not.
I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

I will be seeing the specialist (lung function) in XXXXXXX I have no written report to send you. My heart is fine, but my lungs have flattened out at the bottom. I stopped smoking about 40 years ago.

Brief Answer:
Possibility of emphysema variant of COPD is more likely in your case.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Sorry for late reply as I was busy.
Since you are past smoker, flattening of lungs at bottom, shortness of breath and abnormal PFT, possibility of emphyematous variant of COPD (chronic obstructive Pulmonary disease) is more likely in your case.
So consult pulmonologist and start inhaled treatment.
Best treatment of COPD is combination of inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or salmeterol and tiotropium).
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
