Suggest Treatment For Itchy Reddish Hand After Insect Bite
Question: hi doc,
my mom woke up in morning with insect bite at hand. it looks reddish and blackish at centre.it has little itching.please suggest. please suggest some ointment or medicine.

Hi
I have seen the attached picture.
It surely looks like an insect bite reaction .
She should apply an antibiotic steroid cream like flutibact or fucibet cream over the affected area twice a day for three to five days.
In addition she should take tablet levocetrizine 5 mg once a day.
Do not apply any other cream or oil over it.
In case the redness still persists inspite of treatment or tends to increase, then she might need a course of oral antibiotics .
