Question: I have been diognosed with IBS since a teenager,now 68. And free of it for some years,it has flared up over the last 2 weeks and today the pain in my lower stomach is getting unbearable.I hAve a warm wheatbag to stop some of the discomfort.I have mebevene to take 20 mins before meals,can I take paracetamol for the pain?

I understand your concern. There is no harm in taking paracetamol for pain as there's no interaction with Mebeverine and it is not an irritant.
If the discomfort persists or you have constipation alternating with diarrhea or there's fever or weight loss, it would be good to see a gastroenterologist and have tests and a colonoscopy if he / she suggests.
