Suggest Treatment For High Blood Pressure While Having Shoulder Pain
Question: with medication, my bp is usually 130 over 72. Recently, with a shoulder injury from lifting weights, there is much pain and discomfort in both shoulders. My bp has been in the upper range--178 over 98 and sometimes lower. One doctor increased my meds to include metopolol ( along with losartan 100mg) and the pressure has not changed.

I have visited an orthopedic specialist who found, through an MRI, that a spur is pushing against a nerve that is causing the pain. The pain med prescribed was Tylenol with codeine. I only took the meds for 3 days and discontinued due to the scare of addition. My primary care doc prescribed hydrocodone which I will not use because i am allergic to it. My concern: since the meds are not to my liking and the pain persists; and the bp stays heighten, does it create a medical problem for me. I am scheduled for surgery in 2 weeks.
