Suggest Treatment For High BP And Diabetes

default
Posted on Sat, 18 Jun 2016
Question: My father is 58 years old. He has been suffering from high blood pressure & diabetes for more than 10 years now & has to take medicines for both on a daily basis.
He has been suffering from severe tooth pain now & looks like all his teeth have been decayed.
He visited the doctor,& he has suggested to extract all teeth now.
Does this multiple tooth extraction involve any risk considering the existing high BP & diabetes ?
Also, can there be any alternative treatment besides tooth extraction ?
Kindly suggest.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX First of all thanx for approaching Healthcare magic for your query.I read through your query and I must say that diabetes and hypertension are very common among patients these days. I suggest you not to worry much in this case. You must first go to your physician tell him about the dentist told. Then make it control both diabetes and hypertension(it can be controlled to normal level) and ho to dentist and get the extraction done. The reason why dentist told to get it controlled because otherwise it will go for lot of bleeding (due to antihypertensive drug) and also more healing time required(due to diabetes).Getting all teeth extracted and giving complete denture is fine.If you want to know whether any other treatment is possible .Please send me image of his upper and lower jaws inside the oral cavity. And also image with biting.Nothing to be tensed here.Every problem has a solution in this world.Hope you have understood what I have replied. Please get back as soon as possible.Have a healthy day
