Brief Answer:
Fever

Detailed Answer:
Hello. I just read through your question.
This is very common in the pediatric age range. The most likely diagnosis in this age group is a harmless viral illness. These will usually come with fever for 2 to 3 days, and other vague complaints, such as headache, abdominal pain, etc...
The most important objective, is to keep the child comfortable. This is done with fluids for hydration, and fever control as you have been doing. Viral illnesses ultimately resolve on their own with no lingering effects. However, if the fever persists beyond 2 to 3 days I recommend consulting with your doctor. This could be an indication of an oncoming bacterial infection.
