default
Posted on Mon, 7 Nov 2016
Question: Hi doctor,

For past 5-6 days, i feel my food stuck in the throat while eating. It occurs at the lower middle portion of my chest. A week ago, i also suffered from stomach pain to which i was suggested by doctor that i had acidity. I also take an antacid syrup after eating. My stomach is fine now but chest pain still exists during eating. Rest of the time, am totally fine. There is also no breathing problem. Is it something i should worry about or its just because of acidity?

Thanks,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
Endoscopy

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.

Yes, it can occur due to acidity. But since you are already on antacids and still having the symptom I would advise you to undergo an upper GI endoscopy to rule out any obstruction in your food pipe.

I hope that answers your query.
Let me know if you have anymore questions.
