Question: I have been diagnosed with fatty liver through a routine USG. I consume alcohol once a week. I am 35 yrs old, weigh 108 kgs & my height is 184 cms. I take medication for hypertension - Asomex 5. My LFT blood test results are within range. Is it okay to take Liv 52 tablets to treat the condition? Kindly advise.

Answer given below

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.

A simple fatty liver is a harmless condition and is reversible if the risk factors are eliminated. There is no need to worry as long as the liver function test is within normal limits.

The risk factors you have are alcohol intake and obesity. You need to quit drinking alcohol and also need to reduce weight.
Also check your blood glucose and lipid profile as high blood glucose and high cholesterol are other common causes of fatty liver.

I hope that answers your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
