Brief answer....your doctor is right
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read our query and understand your concern.

Fatty liver is a condition where fats get deposited in liver cells. In general it doesn't cause problem but it doesn't mean that it can not turn into a serious problem. In very few individuals it can cause inflammation of liver and can lead to cirrhosis of liver. Therefore it becomes essential to get it treated.

Most common causes for non alcoholic fatty liver are... Obesity, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, diabetes, hypothyroidism etc. In some cases, causes are difficult to find.

Basically speaking there is no effective medical treatment for this condition. Treatment involved is lifestyle modification and treating your basic condition.
Do regular aerobic exercises for 45 minutes a day
Reduce your weight.
Avoid fatty foods, junk foods, colas and sweets.
Take more of fresh fruits, green vegetables and nuts.
Control your cholesterol, triglycerides, blood sugar and hypothyroidism, if they are present.

There is nothing to worry regarding this as persistent effort and dedication would make you all right in next 4-6 months.
I hope it helps, however you may revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
