Suggest Treatment For Extreme Pain In Groin And Hip Area

default
Posted on Fri, 11 Jul 2014
Question: I had extreme pain in my groin area, caused I believe by, arthritis, brought on by cold damp weather. Ordinarily I have some ongoing dull pain in my hip area but it isn't severe, I think because I reside in XXXXXXX area where weather is hot and dry and arthritis pain is usually minimal. However after being in the XXXXXXX Utah area for the past week, the weather had been quite cool and dampand raining which has caused extreme pain in my hip/groin area - so bad that I could not walk without aid of my husband. Ordinarily I take no pain medication excepting for a baby aspirin each night because I have atrial fibulation. However, for the past 2 days I have been taking two 500 mg of tylenol every 4 to 6 hrs to lessen the pain and as of this AM, I discovered my urine is very bloody. I have stopped taking the tylenol as of this morning which I'm hopful will eliminate the blood in my urine. Other than the hip/groin area, I have no other symptoms (tummy ache, etc.) that cause pain. Since my doctor is not in the area I'm visiting, do you think it prudent to wait and see if the bloody urine stops after a few days of not taking tylenol. Or should we cancel the rest of our vacation and head back home?
