Question: hello, i am having itching problem all over my body since past 20 days. Last week I went to dermat and it was diagnosed as scabies, she suggested me HHMite overnight once only plus levocetrizine one tablet daily plus venusia mostiuriser twice daily. After a week of medication still the itching is not gone. today again I followed up and she changed the medication to Sorax 10 Mg OD and clarate lotion mixed with venusia to be applied twice daily for 10 days. Can you please suggest if it is ok. also. can you please suggest me the medication to get rid of this problem earliest. thanks a lot

Brief Answer:
Your treatment is in line with what I had suggested you earlier.

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic

I have gone through your query and I have noted your complaints.
I have answered your previous query too in which you complained of itching on left leg ankle and calf and inner thighs. Is the present query related to the same skin problem?

In the last query you posted me Images of skin involvement on leg, which I diagnosed as eczematous dermatitis and asked you to use potent topical steroid i.e clobetasol propionate 0.05% cream mixed with a moisturizer.

Scabies usually resolves with a single over night application of permethrin and if the itching is still persisting after a week of treatment, I guess it was not scabies. However, it is quite usual to treat empirically for scabies even on the slightest of suspicion.

I would request you to upload fresh photographs of the skin lesions, if any.

You present treatment is in line with what I had suggested you a few days back. The present treatment contains a topical potent steroid and a moisturizer, which you have been asked to mix and apply.

I suggest you to continue with Levocetrizine for a few more days.

I am pity sure about the leg and calf lesions, which I diagnosed as Eczematous dermatitis and the above treatment would work well for it but in your previous query you did'nt post me inner thigh Images. It would be better if you can click and upload a few Images of inner thigh area because it could be a fungal infection and therefore the treatment would be entirely different from the above mentioned one.

Brief Answer:
Inner thigh skin lesions are likely to be fungal in origin.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

I have reviewed the Images.
You may mix and use topical steroid lotion and moisturizer for your ankle and calf skin lesions, as discussed with your doctor.
I would suggest you to continue with Levocetrizine tablets.

For inner thighs region, I suggest an OTC topical antifungal cream e.g clotrimazole 1% cream, twice daily for 4-6 weeks.
