Brief Answer:
Suggested X ray chest and consultation with doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Cough for two months is a very common symptom however she must be evaluated in detail as you have also mentioned that she is occasionally having hoarseness of voice.

A chest X ray is the most essential investigation for her. This will show if there is any infection in the chest or any other important cause. Hoarseness of voice occurs due to irritation of the recurrent laryngeal nerve which supplies the vocal cords. This has significance when evaluating a patient with dry cough for two months as there can be something in the chest which is causing cough and irritation of the nerve causing hoarseness.

Dry cough and hoarseness for two months can be due to an underlying serious condition. It is better to see an internal medicine specialist and then an ENT surgeon if required.

Blood investigations might also need to be done if required after clinical examination.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
