Hoarseness of voice occurs due to irritation of the recurrent laryngeal nerve which supplies the vocal cords. This has significance when evaluating a patient with dry cough for two months as there can be something in the chest which is causing cough and irritation of the nerve causing hoarseness.

Dry cough and hoarseness for two months can be due to an underlying serious condition. It is better to see an internal medicine specialist and then an ENT surgeon if required.
