Suggest Treatment For Dizziness And Pulse Rate Of 103
Question: my wife has a pulse rate of 103. She feels dizzy. Her BP is 130/96. She feels dizzy a lot. is her heart/ BP and pulse a cause for her dizzness?

Well, the heart rate of 103 beats per minute is not concerning, as it may go even higher due to physical activity or psychological stress, or both. Although a diastolic blood pressure of over 90 mmHg (the lower figure) may cause dizziness and/or lightheadedness, since she is roughly 70 years of age, I would recommend some tests to be done.
- an EKG - to see and evaluate the heart's conduction and electrical systems, since changes there may cause constant or intermittent dizziness
- an echo cardiogram - to assess the heart structures, especially the valves, since narrowings of the valves may cause reduced blood supply to the brain, hence the dizziness
- an echo Doppler of the carotid (neck) arteries - to see if there is any sound blockage that could explain the symptom.
