Important aspects of your query are: • 34 years old female • Delivered baby recently • Complaints of: Stress of infant care with studies, inability to focus and concentrate • Poor response to hypnosis Attention and concentration can be affected by multiple factors in your case in given hierarchy: -Stress: present in your case. -Anemia: Need to check your hemoglobin. Specially in recent mothers. -Vitamins and nutrients deficiency: Specially in recent mothers. Need to take multivitamins, fruits, milk and eggs in diet. -Poor sleep: need to follow sleep hygiene. -Thyroid imbalance: Need serum TSH assessment. -Post infection stage: Like post viral infection syndrome (after cough/cold/diarrhoea). I do exercise regularly. And take vitamins and eating right. I have my mom to care for my baby because I have to focus on school right now and I am not sleep deprived since my baby sleeps 8-10 hours straight at night. I used to take ADHD medication during high school due to similar issues. But I stopped the medication because of jittery feeling. I dedicated my time to study every day but gets easily distracted by other thought when I'm reading. I've done therapy and counselings but still not able to focus at all. I don't have depression due to child birth in fact I'm happy that I'm a mom of my child. Should I consider medication treatment?

Brief Answer: Can consider medical treatment. Detailed Answer: Hello again, Thanks for follow up. Considering your lifestyle, normal sleep, absence of depression, need to perform well in exam and past history of ADHD treatment, in my opinion you can seek medical treatment for attention deficit. Same time continue existing lifestyle, follow above steps and get investigated for anemia/thyroid function.
