Brief Answer:
it can be due to medicines for depression, provide more info

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

When person is in depression there is possibility of low libido and it is one of the symptoms of depression. However if depression improves overall this symptom also go off.

Sometime medicines used for depression specifically SSRI group (Sertraline, fluoxetine, escitalopram) can cause sexual dysfunction.

- Let me know which medicine have you taken for depression with duration and dose?

Lack of sensitivity can be part of any physical problem like hypertension or diabetes or as well as due to long term substance use.

- Please clarify that do you have any physical problem (you have mentioned that no other health problem but I am just reconfirming)? And do you have any habit of alcohol or smoking?

-Also mention your height and weight to rule out obesity.

At this point I would suggest one supplement for sensitivity problem which is without side effect.
You can use medicine cum vitamin supplement containing pyridoxal-5-phosphate, mecobalamin and l-methylfolate (trade name tetrafol plus) is very helpful in my patients. You may get this medicine over the counter as it is vitamin product.

I will be happy to help you further after your response.

I was prescribed Zoloft than Paxil but they both gave me sexual side effects and this was about ten years ago. I stopped taking them because it didn't do anything for my depression plus it gave me sexual side effect.....as far as I know I don't have diabetes nor high blood pressure...I lift weights for exercise...I'm 5'6" tall and weigh about 170lbs..i do drink alcohol about 3 times a week drinking about 4 beers...I don't smoke or do any drugs

Brief Answer:
no positive finding in your history, how is your sex life?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for information.

Zolfot and paxil can cause sexual side effects but they are reversible after stopping the medicines.
After 10 years there is no chance of any effect of antidepressant medicines on sex life. As well as no positive finding in your history.Your weight is slight high. You need to lose 5 lbs more.

In my opinion tetrafol plus specifically its content pyridoxal phosphate will help.

Let me know details about your sex life in past 10 years so I can give more comments on your situation.

Take care.

got divorced in 2009...didn't have sexual relations with another women till 4 months ago...but I was masterbating and maybe about 2 years ago started noticing sensitivity issues with my penis so I knew it was going to be a problem during sex so when I finally started having sex its not as pleasurable and wasn't able to cum after about half an hour of sex usually it would take me about 20min. and that's trying hard not to cum to soon and if i wanted to cum soon i could cum in 2min......ohh also i don't think my sensitivity problem is from masterbating to much

Brief Answer:
you need behavioral modification, go for testosterone report

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for information.

You were almost not doing sex for 6 years. However masturbation was continue means there is no physical problem.

As you are in new relationship as well as started sex after long time it may take some time to get adjusted with partner and timing. Masturbation and sex are different ways for reaching same destination. As you were using only one way since long you need to adjust to new way and you can do that for sure.

I suggest avoiding masturbation if you are going to involve in intercourse more. Your problem is delayed ejaculation likely. Preferably do not do masturbation before 2 days of sex. It will help to accumulate semen in your seminal vesicles and you can ejaculate at appropriate time.

Approach of your partner also matters. You need to spare more time in foreplay and enjoy romantic plays. The way she can excite you also matters.

At this point I also would like to suggest going for serum testosterone level (free and total testosterone at fasting). If it is low supplement can be given.
