Brief Answer:
it is normal phenomenon. No treatment required

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
It is pretty normal for babies at this age to pass stools once in 3 to 5 days.
The reason is that in the first few days digestion ability of newborn gut is less and this capacity increases with good bacteria colonisation. This takes a week and after that milk swallowed is easily digested and most of it is absorbed into baby's body. As the only diet is milk the stools wouldn't be able to fully form every day.

In short don't worry. Even if your baby passes once in 5 days it is normal provided baby is otherwise well and feeding normally with good urine output.

Continue breastfeeding frequently. Mother needs to take plenty of liquids and milk and juices.
If your baby is active cheerful and feeding well and sleeping between feeds don't worry.

Wishing your baby good health

Regards
Dr Arun

Brief Answer:
yes

Detailed Answer:
Yes
It is better to consult your doctor for physical examination if stools don't pass even after 5 days. Even then your doctor might not prescribe any drugs if he feels the babys abdomen is normal on examination.
