Brief Answer:
You are having flu attack

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. It is possible that you are having a viral flu attack which includes fever, common cold and sore throat.

2. Such flu attacks are mild in nature and likely doe to change in weather or exposure to cold temperature and getting wet in rains.

3. Cheston cold is a recommended over the counter medicine for flu. It contains Paracetamol 500 mg, Phenylpropanolamine 25 mg, Cetirizine Hydrochloride 5 mg and might be taken twice daily after food.

4. Please take rest for two days and avoid exposure to dust and pollution. Have healthy food and warm milk and soup. You should do warm water throat gargle twice daily to clear your throat. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery after taking medicines as there might be increased drowsiness. Avoid alcohol and smoking for some days if you do it regularly.

5. Usually your symptoms will improve in 3 days. However if you have very high fever and no improvement of symptoms after 3 days of medicine then please consult your doctor for a clinical examination and suspected bacterial infection which might require a course of antibiotics.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
