Suggest Treatment For Bruises On Calf

default
Posted on Tue, 16 Jun 2015
Question: I have a cluster of what seem like bruises on my calf, but when pressed, don't lighten or hurt. I'm really afraid it may be some sort of a bug bite, but I don't recall there being a bump there to begin with.

Brief Answer:
probably vein hematoma

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome. It looks to me like broken vein in subcutaneous tissue which is commonly seen in young females. I don't think this is bug bite or allergy reaction. You may have had unnoticed hit during sleep or there was no obvious cause. You should apply cold compresses and take nonsteroid painkillers. If such changes repeat or this one worsen then you should see hematologist and check your coagulation factors in blood.
Wish you good health
