Brief Answer:
Monistat does not cause brownish discharge as a side effect

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your question.

Yes, Monistat 3, also called Miconazole (and you are using the cream, right?) and its used to treat yeast infections. Use it 2 times/day locally, maximum 5 days.

No need to be concerned because the cream doesn't have side effects, except local irritation. The brownish discharge may be from a irregularity of your menstrual cycle, make sure to do a pregnancy test if you are sexually active and your menstrual cycle is delaying, ect.
Also make sure, when the yeast is resolved and if the discharge continues, that the discharge is not form other causes that you need to rule our like a sexually transmitted disease.

I can tell with confidence though that the brownish discharge is not coming from the use of the Miconazole cream.

Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you have further questions.

Take care,
Dr. Papaqako
