Brief Answer: Please find detailed answer below Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXXX, Thanks for writing in to us. If your daughter is a known case of asthma then please give her medications which were given earlier like bronchodilators and nebulisation or steroid aerosols. If the breathlessness is intense then she must go to a hospital and take emergency treatment. Until then please make her sit in a place where there is fresh air. Common breathing problems include chronic sinusitis, allergies, and asthma. These problems can cause a host of symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, chest congestion, cough, wheezing, labored breathing, and shallow breathing. The nasal passage is a pathway for viruses and allergens to enter your lungs. So the nose and sinuses are often associated with many lung disorders. A sinus or nasal passage inflammation may trigger reflexes and cause asthma attacks. One can never tell if she is having a severe bout of asthma and this can be life threatening. It is also possible that migraine can trigger nausea, breathlessness and associated anxiety. It needs to be investigated in detail by doing clinical examination. Hope your query is answered. Do write back if you have any doubts. Regards, Dr.Vivek

She has vomited a couple of times already, and seemingly feels breathless. When she does, she is uncomfortable and is crying. She had eaten out for lunch, and some of the food she has vomited - is that food. Have given her few sips of electral and coconut water

Brief Answer: Please find detailed answer below Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXXX, Thanks for writing in with an update. With the complete information, it looks like she must be suffering from acute gastroenteritis and gastritis. Giving her plenty of water and fresh fluids is the first step. If she is vomiting then please wait for 10 - 15 minutes before giving her water. You may give her a medication to stop vomiting like pantoprazole and domperidone combination (Pan D). If her vomiting is not subsiding and she is feeling sick and nauseating then you may start antibiotic combination like ciprofloxacin and tinidazole (Ciplox TZ) twice a day after food for 5 days. When she vomits, please make her sit up straight and do not give her anything to eat or drink unless she is comfortable. If her condition worsens, please consult your nearest doctor. Hope your query is answered. Do write back if you have any doubts. Regards, Dr.Vivek

Brief Answer: Please continue medications if she is recovering Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXX, Thanks for writing in with an update. Nice to know that your daughter is feeling better and recovering. May I mention that your first query was about breathlessness, cold and nausea and did not contain enough information on any symptoms to suspect gastroenteritis. Even vomiting had not occurred I guess. Under those circumstances I suspected something wrong with her respiratory system with ?migraine. Anyways your subsequent query made it clear that it may be gastroenteritis. Nevermind, if she is responding to medications then she needs to continue them and also take rest and home cooked non spicy food for 15 days. Please give her plenty of water and fresh fluids to drink. Wishing your daughter good health. Hope your query is answered. Do write back if you have any doubts. Regards, Dr.Vivek
