Suggest Treatment For Bilateral Breast Cancer

Question: I have bilateral breast cancer and will undergo a double mastectomy in a month. Meanwhile, some other symptoms have come up and they are concerning me. My lymph nodes are swollen on my left side (my left breast was where it all began) and I am having night sweats, shortness of breath, constant itching that is driving me wild, and all I want to do is sleep. I've been off chemo for a week. Could this still be chemo kickback? Several of these symptoms have been with me since last autumn. Thank you for any advice - my oncology team poo-poos me all the time and I am feeling desperate.

Thanks for your query. Chemo effects can be quite debilitating sometimes and most of your symptoms can be attributed to them. They will get better over the next few weeks.

However, I am a bit concerned about the left armpit lymph node swelling. Were this present from the beginning? if these have appeared now then it can be because of some infection (predisposed to by chemo-induced immunity compromise). We need to do a good clinical exam and if it looks like infection, a course of antibiotics will help.
