Question: my feet recently have become very sore and very painful to walk on. My toe joints are also very achy and I'm thinking arthritis. I am 84 years old. I have walked and exercised for years. I now do water aerobics but that is painful.

Brief Answer:
could be foot arthritis or spinal canal stenosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel ,Orthopedic Surgeon.
As You have described , you probably have arthritic foot . I would suggest mild pain killers , hot fomentation and local analgesic cream application.
The other possibility could be that pain or soreness could be coming from back, due to pressure on the spinal cord(spinal Canal Stenosis). In this case you will require a MRI to know the exact cause of soreness. Start a combination of gabapentin and methycobalamine.
Hope for speedy relief. Please feel free to ask any other question.
Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
