Brief Answer:
Metrogyl will not be helpful

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms

Metrogyl is an antibiotic and will not be helpful in management of anal fissure.

Anal fissure is a small tear at anal opening and occurs due to
1. Excessive straining while passing stools
2. Hard stools or constipation

I would suggest you the following

1. High fiber diet : 2 servings of vegetable salad and 2 servings of fruits especially citrus fruit will ensure adequate intake of fiber. Fiber will help maintain soft consistency of stool thus providing rest and aid in healing of fissure

2. Ensure good intake of water : 2 to 3 litres a day

3. Laxatives like Lactulose will be helpful to maintain soft stool

4. Hot Seitz bath : To a tub of lukewarm water add 2 spoons of antiseptic solution. Sit in it for 15 to 20 minutes each session twice a day. This will reduce the pain and associated anal muscle spasm

5. Local application of Nifedepine ointment: This will relax the anal muscle and help in healing. Apply it thrice a day

6. Xylocaine ointment being local anaesthetic will help relieve pain

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Take care

Brief Answer:
Nitrogesic ointment is one of the brand name

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Dear Ms XXXXXXX

Following are the possible medications that could be used. They are prescription medications and you should always have someone examine you before you start using them.

1. Nitrogesic (Nitroglycerine ) ointment for local application thrice a day.

2. You can use Xynova ointment for control of pain

3. Consuming sufficient water will also help with your urinary complaints

4. Get Urine routine and microscopic examination done if urinary symptoms persist to rule out urinary tract infection

Majority of anal fissure will heal if you religiously follow. Exact assessment is only possible by clinical examination . I assume you are resident of XXXXXXX so do not worry you will get the brands as suggest.

For pain also you could possibly take Tablet Dolonex Dt 20 mg twice a day for 3 days. This medication requires a prescription as well.

Do get back to me anytime you need any further assistance.
