i read your question and i understand your concern. Intestinal cyst could point to many etiologies . It could be polyps, a hamartomas, a pseudocyst from pancreas etc.

Please provide the CT scan report and attach the copy of it here. In that way i shall be able to help you and guide you better. Also provide detailed history and signs symptoms and duration of illness.

Brief Answer:
Pancreatic pseudocyst

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back to me

Now that explains enough. History of pancreatitis and dull pain in right hypochondrium is typical of pancreatic pseudocyst. usually when such cysts show up we follow it up for assessment of fluid and its cytology to rule out any malignancy but with recent pancreatitis in history i believe watchful waiting is all you need. Follow up monitoring however should be mandatory and at least every 2nd month should be done.

treat your symptoms conservatively. if the pancreatitis was gallstones , consider removing gall bladder. Also avoid alcohol and all other stimulants that can trigger pancreatitis. So you prevent pancreatitis you prevent pseudocyst. If the cyst bothers you too much your doctor can get it drained or surgically excise for you using minimal invasion. Talk to them and let them decide what is best for you.

Should you have any more queries, please feel free to write back to me any time. I shall be delighted to answer your queries.

Thank you for that, after researching a little I thought it might be that. I had my gallbladder removed at the time of my attack. By the way, I have never been a drinker although that is the first question I was asked in the emergency room. I'm going to see a surgeon next week.

:)

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back to me

Pancreatitis is the commonest cause of pancreatic pseudocysts. With gallbladder already out and no history of drinking, two major insults to these cysts are out so the odds of recovery are very good and most likely will self resolve. All you need to do is wait and see. Let the surgeons decide what is best for you.

My best wishes for you. Should you have any more queries, please feel free to follow up with me. i would love to answer and entertain your queries.
