Suggest Treatment For Abdominal And Back Pain

Posted on Tue, 18 Apr 2017
Question: Hello,
I have had a burning and gnawing pain in my stomach for almost four months daily with back pain. I have had a contrast Ct scan that did not show any masses and yes I need to have an endoscopy that I've been avoiding. Could this be cancer even though my ct scan was clear? I'm a 40 year old female with ibs . I had an endoscopy 7 years ago that was clear with similar symptoms. It's been daily. I sleep without any pain and oddly enough drinking alcohol makes symptoms better

Brief Answer:
some lesion may be there

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. I have gone through the details.

Not to be afraid, but sometimes CT scan can miss small size mucosal lesions. These can be picked up easily on endoscopy.

However, there are more common causes of your symptoms like esophagitis, gastritis and hiatus hernia which also need to be ruled out. Endoscopy will be the best test. Please go for it.

Thanks and regards
