Suggest Treatment For A Small Painless Bump Near The Vagina

default
Posted on Mon, 1 Aug 2016
Question: I have a small, smooth, painless bump near the opening of my vagina. It has been there for a little over a month and has never changed in size or appearance. Wondering if it is something I need to get checked out or if it most likely just a cyst and need to wait it out.

Brief Answer:
From your description and the image, it appears to be Bartholin cyst.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.

The image you have uploaded is not very clear to me.
From your description and the image, it appears to be Bartholin cyst. It occurs due to blocking of duct of the gland. The duct of the gland gets blocked due to injury, mild inflammation, skin folds etc.
It is good to see GP/Gynecologist for confirmation. Sitz bath and warm moist compresses 3-4 times a day may open up the duct and drain the fluid. You may try doing this. Safe sex practices and good hygiene, prevent the cyst from getting infected.
I hope this is helpful.
If you have any further concerns do contact me through Healthcare Magic.
Best wishes,
Dr Rama
