Suggest Treatment For A Dark Spot On Glans Of Penis

default
Posted on Wed, 24 Jun 2015
Question: I have a darkish line, about 1 or 2 mm wide, on my glans which runs from the beginning of the glans almost to the urethra, and have been receiving treatment by a urologist for some weeks with an ointment called Nystalocal. I have made an appointment with the urologist which is not yet due. The reason I have not been since the first visit is that after I use the ointment the line disappears totally after a short time and does not appear for a number of days – once or twice it was gone for about 10 days or more. This leads me to assume the disorder is cured and everything is all right. Until it appears again later, sometimes more pronounced and longer than before. Occasionally I have an itching or burning sensation in the penis, but other than that no symptoms - i.e. such as weeping or anything like that. I first noticed this after intercourse with a woman I met in August last year and am now together with. She told me she has visited a gynaecologist in the meantime but there were no findings. My urologist made a blood test which also turned out negative. For the sake of completeness I would like to point out that I had what is called a "Feigwarze" in German, the only Latin expression for which I found was: condylomata acuminata. This was nearly thirty years ago. It was quite tenacious and took a long series of treatment with a deep-freeze technique applied on the glans penis to get rid of it. The only reason I mention it is that it also disappeared several times after the treatment and came back again in a few days. Other than that I enjoy normally good health, except for various problems caused by candida albicans plus a gluten-intolerance which I make ample allowance for with my diet. I would be grateful for any help or advice you could give me.
Thanks and regards!

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query in detail and i have understood your concern.

This seems most likely a mucosal hyperpigmentation which is either post-inflammatory Or due to lichen planus.

The cream that you use is a combination of topical antifungal + topical steroid. The steroid component in this cream is supposed to benefit this type of hyperpigmentation. Hence you notice an improvement with this cream.

I would request you to kindly upload an image so that i am able to have a visual impression of your concern and therefore guide you better.
