Suggest Remedy For Uretheral Spasms After Urination

default
Posted on Fri, 27 Feb 2015
Question: I took antibiotics for 10 days due to oral surgery procedure. I developed uretheral spasms at the end of urinating. They feel like something is piercing me, are itchy and burning at the same time. Once I stop urinating, the spasm lessens to a tolerable degree. I have taken Diflugen, 4 doses so far and there is a slight decrease in the discomfort. Is there an ointment that can be applied to the area to relieve the discomfort.

Brief Answer:
Miconizole Nitrate Cream offers relief

Detailed Answer:

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Healthcare Magic. I am glad to assist you.
You been prescribed an antifungal medication that should offer relief. Your medication still needs more time to be effective. I suggest you apply some miconizole nitrate cream for added relief. This is commonly available at your local drug store without prescription. Add yogurt to your diet. Cranberry uice is often beneficial. Keeping well hydrated is important and seems that you have been making an effort to do this already. also available is acidopholus and probiotics. Taking these in combination with antibiotics often prevent fungal infection from occurring.
Thank you for your inquiry. Please let me know if this offers you some additional relief and when you are more comfortable.

Advice sounds good but am wondering why a dentist is answering the question when it pertains to urethral spasms.

Brief Answer:
Dentists commonly see and treat fungal infections

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you again for choosing Healthcare Magic. In reading your inquiry, your condition seems to be related to oral surgery and a post surgery reaction to prescription antibiotics. Treating fungal infections is a common occurance in the practice of dentistry. This makes me comfortable attributing your described symptoms to a fungal infection.
I recommend that you consult a specialist if you do not feel relief after completing your medication or you have any prior medical conditions that may be contributing to this condition. If your condition worsens, I would suggest consulting your general physician for a clinical exam and further diagnosis. You may have a vaginal yeast infection. You may be referred to a urologist or gynecologist if there are complications.
I hope that you will not need any additional care and that you are recovering well with your oral surgery procedure.
