Posted on Wed, 26 Nov 2014
Question: I have been having upper abdomen spasms/twitching. I went to my dr. And he just said its IBS. This occurs daily and nightly very frequently. Any ideas what it could be or is my doc correct to say IBS? This has been going on for about three weeks now. Additionally, it seems I can hear my heart beat every time I lay down making it difficult to sleep.

Brief Answer:
need investigations &take pantaprazole/omeprazole

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Your symptoms could be due to NUD is non ulcer dyspepsiaband is similar to IBS
Have you lost any weight and has yourbappetite reduced?
I would advice a few blood tests like hemoglobin. TSH and blood glucose along with an ultrasound of the abdomen. In case these are normal I would suggest a PPI like omeprazole or pantaprazole for a month.
In case your symptoms persist the next step is to get an upper GI endoscopy

Hope this helps
